Powerful forces, having used a corrupt Congress to depose his successor Dilma Rousseff, are now trying to destroy his reputation and remove his influence.

Various charges made against him have proven to be false, but Brazil’s all-powerful “Globo” media empire and other influential business-people continue their campaign against him as he is a major obstacle to them retaking total control of the country.
